GÁBOR NEUBAUER

Deputy Director, Chief Operating Officer

My name is Gábor Neubauer, and I am the Chief Operating Officer of the Diverse Youth Network.

My main focus is organizing queer programs, including the Freedom of My Identity human rights festival and the Pécs Pride. I am also responsible for overseeing the organization’s digital infrastructure, including the operation of the website and servers.

Alongside my civil work, I am employed as a web developer at a digital agency. Previously, I worked as a project manager in the construction industry, as a technical coordinator on municipal development projects in Siklós, in the human resources field at the Municipality of Pécs, and as a layout designer and graphic artist at a publishing company. I also led a Pécs-based civil organization for ten years, focusing on awareness-raising, education, nature conservation, and advocacy.

Since 2022, I have been active as a human rights activist with Amnesty International Hungary, and since 2024 I have worked as an organizer and later as managing director of Szivárványos Lelkek (Rainbow Souls), a Pécs-based community organizing recreational and mental health–supporting programs for queer people and allies.

As the space for sexual and gender minorities continued to shrink, I felt an increasingly strong calling to focus my social responsibility on the field of human rights. I consider the Diverse Youth Network a key pillar of the human rights movement and minority communities in Pécs, and I am committed to supporting its work with both action and advocacy.

My hobbies include caring for houseplants and exploring the world of exotic animals, cycling, and gaming.
